Lance studied Philosophy at Georgia State University, and received a BA in Liberal Arts. Lance says, "I finally found my life's passion, my life's work in hot glass and the art of flameworking in 1998, and from that moment I knew I would be a hot glass artist for the rest of my life." Still holding down the north side of the city?

Lance,
You do very nice work!
catherine

Dear Catherine,
Thank you for the kind words.
I was hesitant to put up that old pic of one of my very first goblets ( that wonky wig wag goblet was made in like 2004), but I put it up anyway. It reminds me of how far I've come, and how far I have to go....LOL. My blown work has come a long way since then. Thanks to a host of very gracious flameworkers that have shared with me their abundant knowledge; such as, Travis Tyler, Steve Sizelove, Mag Mangkang, Tadashi Tori of Duckbill Studios, and most recently Emilio Santini. Steve Sizelove will be here again at FlameTree Glass this weekend on August 16 & 17 2008! I prepare to be humbled once again. LOL.
I have a loooooooong way to go to get to where I want to be with my skills as a hot glass artist. There is so much to learn.
It's almost 10 PM and I'm here at the studio practicing my hollow work skills. Man, the Italians make perfect Avoglios look easy!
Anyway, thanks again for the kind words. In this world it's nice to hear kind words, for they are becoming almost missing in today's society.
Take good care of yourself, and please feel free to stop by and visit us at FlameTree Glass in Historic Roswell Georgia anytime,
Peace,
Lance McRorie
