Artist Statement
My love of the natural world started as a kid, catching bugs in the garden and playing in the tide pools where I grew up in the Puget Sound of Washington. This love is now in full swing living in Hawaii and glass has given me an outlet for my passion.
Born in Osaka, Japan, Tadashi came to the United States in 1987. In 1989 he attended Georgia Southwestern State University in Americus, Georgia. While studying business, he found his true calling in the Art Department at the glassblowing studio.
Born in Akron, Ohio, in 1958, glass artist Kathleen Elliot has made California her home for 45 years. With her husband’s encouragement and support, she has discovered and developed her artistic talent while raising their five children.
Born in 1951 in Fort Belvoir , Virginia and raised in Honolulu , Hawaii , Robert's formal education ended after one year of college. He apprenticed with a professional lampworker for two years in the mid-seventies and then sold his own designs at outdoor craft fairs for ten years.
Hans Godo Frabel was born in Jena, East Germany in 1941. He was the third child in a family with five children. The tumultuous political climate in existence after WWII necessitated a family migration to a small city called Wertheim in West Germany, where Frabel’s father opened a scientific glass factory with a business partner.
