My partner, Marc Leva, and I started our studio, Custom Etched Glass, in the late 70s doing carved and etched architectural commission work which we still do. In the mid 80s we became interested in cast glass, built a kiln and started casting small forms, some of which we used in our commission work. In the early 90s, looking for a new artistic outlet, we started learning the pate de verre technique after seeing some pictures of the work of Argy-Rousseau and Almeric Walter. We are completely self taught...etching, casting and pate de verre...through reading and trial and error.
