UV GLUE friend or foe

UV GLUE friend or foe

I have seen many glass artists use uv glue to help with their work. I am thinking about trying the idea to expand my work. Like, attaching a sculpture to a base and adding small scuptured pieces to a larger form, where it would be almost impossable to bring the heat back to a piece to attach something. You know what I mean? Well, I was wondering if this is "accepted" vastly or not. Their must be some politics dying to be expressed on this. Where is it excepted to use and where not. It might not be a big deal, I just want to see what people have to say. Any feedback appreciated !

Looking forward!

From what i have gleaned over the years, whatever you have to do to make the piece is all good as long as it doesnt show and it lasts. UV glue stays clear and is incredibly strong. epoxy will bond glass together good but turns yellow over time. wherever possible just have one piece sit into another and be held by gravity. That way it can be easier to package and ship. Aloha Jupiter

I have used UV glue on some of my pieces as well and am quite content. Jupiter is right about using sparingly. there are times that you must use it for the effect of the art piece. I have not been disappointed nor my customers. Epoxy will yellow, and at times come apart, I do not use it.
